What a Week!

It has been a bit of a long week. I had a pretty good handle on how many overtime hours I had worked until about 4 pm Thursday. Wednesday was the longest, working from 6:15 am (I start a bit early to get ready for the day until 6:15 pm. I am glad that was over. There are always a few overtime hours available at work. Breakdowns generally cause overtime.

I saw DB leave yesterday. It had gone just at 3 pm, I was at the wrapper and sent him a message about having a good weekend, I don’t know if he realised that I sent it at 3 pm and we were still working as that is a no-no to be on the phone during work hours.

I received my black truffles this week, on Wednesday to be exact. I could not wait to get home and have a meal of them. My first meal with truffles is always scrambled eggs. I must admit the scrambled eggs are a bit of a luxury item the way I cook them, I use plenty of cream and butter. As I said Wednesday was a long day and Anna went and got the sourdough, cream and butter. I love the aroma of truffles when you open the package. That was the first thing I did when I got home after 12 hours on the job. I didn’t shower, I opened them and smelt them. Then it was prep time. I was in heaven.

Come round to Thursday, Anna and I had a great idea, why not be a social media influencer? Great idea I thought. What am I going to use as my point of difference? There is only one thing that gets me going more than truffles, COFFEE! So I need a website, another Instagram account, another Facebook page and to my horror I have been told I need a TikTok account. Let me tell you about TikTok. I never thought that I would need one or use one. So that is the other project I am working on. The website will be the same format as this but with different colours and content, I need to “keep the brand”.

So Saturday comes and I get up with an alarm set for 10 minutes after the first to do the bidding of Anna to feed the starter. I slip that first coffee in and have a crack at feeding the living breathing culture. I must have cracked that one, as the dough did its thing when Anna made the bread dough.

My phone needed an update this morning so I let that happen hoping it would fix the Apple Car Play problem. It did for one trip. And I checked Anna’s Android auto thingy It worked too. But after that first trip, it all stopped again. The dealer better fix that on Monday.

We had a lovely trip this afternoon to D & E’s To meet Miss N for the first time. Master M was there of course. I had a hold and that was great. She went down not long after our cuddles and she is a little squeaker in her sleep.

A rest when we got back was just what I needed, a rerun of NYPD Blues and a semi-snooze set the afternoon up.

My morning run this morning included a trip to Hanwood Butchery for some bacon and a Waygu scotch fillet. I had the steak for Dinner and they are so buttery topped it off with some Sweet Potato Fries with Garlic Aioli.

Anyway, Time for bed now it has been a long week.
