TGIF – I have made it through another week, Time to put the diamonds and gold on.
Got to admit I am missing being on the fork, but 2700 dividers going in wasn’t too much of a problem. Didn’t get that 12:30 finish as I would have liked but we got all the runs done this week, and we can go home satisfied.
So the weekend, what is planned, well I have been quite slack the last 12 odd weeks, I was enrolled in a Uni Course, but to be honest it got the better of me. I have withdrawn and I feel a load off my shoulders now. It was an interesting experience and I just could not fit all life has to offer in the time available to me. But back to the plans, first off there is a trip to Hanwood Butchery, to grab some marrow bones and there will be more of that later. Then I am going to watch a live on Lucy Lumens YouTube channel tomorrow at 8 am and then an eye appointment so I can keep my license. Later on, there will be a trip to the tip, a lawn cut and some general yard maintenance.
For the first time in weeks, I picked up a novel, by one of my Favorite authors Kathy Reichs of Bones fame. the title of the book am reading is Bones of the Lost. No doubt this will be as suspenseful as all her other books.
We went out for dinner tonight as well, one of the best curry houses in Griffith “Apra Curry House”. We had a great assortment of dishes. We started off with Samosas, these are homemade versions that are absolutely delish. The pasty is flakey and the filling has the right amount of spice. We followed that with a saab paneer, a wonderful paneer and a spinach dish that again hits the spice nail right on the head. Our all-time Friday night favourite is the prawn masala so that was in the order again. The Naan bread at Apra has to be eaten in-house, if you order this for pick up it will disappoint if you have tried it fresh from a sit-down meal. I had the garlic, and the crusty naan with the velvety garlic butter is to die for. We usually don’t do the dessert menu but we had been told about these desert balls called Gulkab Jamun. Both Anna and I had then the same reaction, “What is that flavour”. A quick Google for a recipe tuned us into the fact it was the cardamon, a flavour we both knew, but it was done with finesse and wasn’t overpowering as cardamon can be if not used properly…It was a great meal, and I cannot recommend Apra highly enough.

I am off now to watch some nostalgic TV, our show of the moment is NYPD Blues, we are 3 episodes in but we will be binge-watching this for some time to come.
