I can see the storm clouds on the horizon, war is just around the corner.
Lets spell it out, Ukraine and Russia are at each others throats, with Russia massing troops now on Europes and NATO’s boarder near Finland. Will Nato come to Ukraine’s rescue. Well it might come to that as Putin has no desire to work towards a ceasefire. This is Putin’s powerplay is to increase the size of Russia and this is a colonial grab of land. As well Putin is attempting to put a buffer against NATO countries. What Putin seems to forget is that the cold war is over, that Mutually Assured Destruction is over. The US and Russia have normalised relations. Ukraine took a direction that they wanted a democrocy and that their land was their land. My fear and that of Nato countries – who are quickly ramping up defense sepnding is that Trump will pull military support for Ukraine and that Russia will win the war. An analyist this morning suggested that Putin will then attack western Nato partners and use the nuclear option to bluff Nato states to back off on. this land grab.. It looks like war is coming to Europe before the end of the decade.
Israel and the middle east are a tinder box! With Israel being reported to be looking at attacks on Iran, along with continuous attacks on Lebanon, Syria and the continued war on Gaza and the West Bank.
Don’t get me wrong about Israel’s reponse to Hamas’s brutal attack on the population of Isreal. It was an a horriffic attack on unarmed civilians. and Israel had the right to respond, but not the extent that they have.
Gaza is a war of genocide, which is something the Jews are acutly aware of. Israel is killing children, women and non combatants at an alarming rate, One of the other side effects is the targeting of journalist in such numbers that they are unable to report on what is going on.
At long last there are sounds cioming from Israels allies and the fact they need to stop. The megre humanitarian aide beling allowd into Gaza, and then controlled by the US and Israel is pathetic. It is time that they negotiated a ceasefire and let the UN administer aid. A huge reset is required.
The you have China’s South China sea antics and the increasing hostile attacks on those seeking freedom of navigation through the South China sea. Blazen near misses with ships and aircraft and grey war. Let not forget the trip around Australia and the unannounced live fire exercises in the Tasman Sea. We also have the threats of the reunification of Taiwan, which the US has pledged to respond to.
All in all these actions are of countries trying to establish dominace on the world stage. And it is time they all sat back and realise that war obly stops for the dead.
